David & Solomon
by
I. Finkelstein & N.A. Silberman
This book is a product of a fertile imagination or two. Very little good can be said about this attempt to remove both Davd and Solomon from the pages of Israeli & Biblicla history. In a nutshell, this work basically is describing one giant conspiracy theory which took place in the 7th-8th b.c. and was perpetuated for over 2700 years and continues tomislead people of all races andlands and it is up to these to writers to 'right' the 'wrong'.
They fail miserably as they cannot produce any contemporary evidence to support their claims and resort to events and artifacts from, supposedly, 60 -200 years later to disprove the claimsof the bible. The writers are very dishonest in their work as they do have an agenda and instead of looking for the truth, they do only enough investigation to support their theories andignore iindepth and detailed work which would undermine their position.
It is as if they are afraid that they will find something thatwill ruin and destroy their life's work. Which wouldn't be difficult as they re-write th Bible at will and change it and Israeli history to fit whatthey want it to be and not describe it as it really was. Their reliance on archaeology alone means that they are drawing conclusions from minute evidence and do not factor in what has been lost over time to construction, wars, destuction, natural disasters and so on.
Their lackof construction knowledge is very evident as they fail to factor in the many methods used in construction and make conclusionsbased upontheir own slanted ideas and not actual fact. This is clearly seen by the ignorance of renovation and removal of previous structures procedures in that field and supports the accusation that they are not interested in the truth but furthering their agenda, which is found at the following link: agenda
Unfortuantely for them, they cannot prove one iota of their ideas and create some great fantasies for bedtime reading. One of their failures which links this idea to reality is their arbitrary down dating with no real reason to do. They also make the claim that certain books of the bible were products of a later time (7th-8th c. b.c.) and were done for political and religious reasons yet they cannot and do not provide one piece of credible evidence showing this to be the case. It is basically an imaginitive creation done at the whim of the authors.
This book and others from these authors just aren't worth the time nor the money to read, they do not hold any truth to them and they can be equated with the tiotle false teachers who are deceived and who deceive others.
