The Politically Incorrect Guide to The Bible

by Robert J. Hutchinson

Despite the title there is little in this work that is really politically correct but it is a well presented, well researched piece of work which does make a good case for the Biblical way of doing things.  Though it cites questionable archaeological discoveries at times, on a whole it does make a good case for the accuracy of the Bible.

Mr. Hutchinson has a great chapter dealing with slavery and presents in detail the different arguments and definitions of the word. it also goes to great lengths to show that the biblical writiers DID NOT support slavery nor advocted its existence.  Rather they condemned the type of slavery practiced by the americans  and europeans.

Another good chapter is chapter 8 entitled, 'sodom and gomorrah. This is not a chapter which deals exclusively with those two cities but instead it looks at the law and the differences between God's law and the secular ones, both ancient and modern.  This chapter shows how the arguments by homosexual advocates concerning what scripture says are off the mark and provides a healthy look at what the Bible is really saying on this issue.

I do not always agree with his points or examples but for the most part i find his arguments very accurate and in line with what God teaches.  This is a book well worth the careful read and worth the money it costs.
