The Teacher's Corner

This section is for a series of articles to point out different mistakes the world makes in its arguments against the Bible.  I started a similar thread inthe discussion forum but it would be best if i did most of the exposure here, where i can concentrate on what is wrong with their point of view instead of being harassed by those who want a discussion on each section before i am finished.

The examples are taken from the website archaeologica found at www.archaeologica.org which is known for its archaeological focus and whose contributors constantly fight off any believer who attempts to present the truth.  The Biblical record means nothing to most of the members of that website and the Bible is oftenviewed as fairy tales or myths written by uneducated men.

Unfortunately for them, some may have been uneducated but the Holy Spirit provided what they needed to accomplish the task setfor them by God.  The world is at odds with the Bible and its recorded history and theywill look for any other possible explanation no matter how absurd the alternative.  The Bible tells us that 'man loves darkness rather than light' and archaeologica is a prime example of that statement.

One thing though, when a believer presents the turht, they better be ready to back up their words with some sort of evidence or constructive, well thought out explanation as the world does not accept the adage: 'God said it, I believe it, that settles it'.  That is not enough for those who are searching for something other than what they have and just saying 'take it by faith' is frustrating to the hearer as they often reject that avenue as the crave for something solid to change their minds.

This can be a problem for the believer as for much of the Bible all we can say is you have to use faith.  We do not get all the phsyical evidence that we need to presen to the unbeliever and when we do present evidence it is often dismissed because it isn't what they wanted to see or they are being deceived into rejhecting what is shown them.

One problem faced by the believer is that even if noah's ark was discovered, or the actual cross of Christ was unearthed, the unbeliever would still reject such evidence for a myriad of reasons which is why we come full cycle back to: 'you must use faith' God has decided that faith is the key to knowing and pleasing Him and we will never get all the evidence we want to have to convince others. If we do it is lost in the multitude of other pieces evidence, for example- there may have been noah's flood evidence uncovered by many archaeologists and researchers yet it is lost in the many local floods that have taken place over the millenia since its event and is unidentifiable.

These are the challenges the believer faces yet with God's leading we can construct convincing arguments and show where the secular world is relying on conjecture, theory, or imagination or whatever instead of hard fact supported by physical evidence.  This is what this section is all about, the exposing of the arguments so the believer can see the reality behind the words so that they do not have to be afraid to  encounter such perspectives and know what to do in response when faced with opposition to the Bible.
